Hi, I’m Lindsey.
I’m so glad you’re here.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and Registered Play Therapist the District of Columbia and the Commonwealth of Virginia with fourteen years of experience working with children and families. I care about all of the families I work with. My goal is to work together so your family can make meaningful and lasting change. I bring warmth and compassion while providing evidence based treatment models grounded in the latest research.
I specialize in treating child, adolescent and young adult anxiety and OCD. With specialized training in pediatric ERP (Exposure Response Therapy) to treat OCD in early childhood, Family-Based CBT, and SPACE (Supportive Parenting program for Anxious Childhood Emotions), I take a family-centered approach to treating anxiety and OCD. I bring play into evidence-based treatment models to help children build coping skills as they face their fears and gain confidence. I also teach parents how to reinforce these same skills at home and in daily life to empower the whole family system.
With over twelve years of experience working at Children’s National Hospital in DC, I also specialize in treating traumatic stress in children. Using a combination of play therapy, expressive arts, mindfulness and parent support, I help families through stressful events like divorce, cancer and chronic illness, medical trauma and loss.
I believe that in a safe, supportive and playful environment, kids feel heard and seen. It is in this space that they can learn and heal.
Come play, create and grow.
I also specialize in women’s therapy, including navigating divorce, grief, trauma, and relationships. Together we explore patterns of being that have protected you in the past but may not be serving you in the present. We create space for your inner knowing to be heard and build self-compassion. I’d love to work with you.
